Interacting with Projected Displays by Means of a 3D Interface and an Instrumented Bracelet
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper introduces a 3D user interface and a concept for an interaction device that we refer to as an instrumented bracelet. Both interfaces are purpose-designed to facilitate user interaction with the AR projection system Fluid Beam [7]. The 3D interface is a desktop application that enables the creation and manipulation of projected displays (virtual displays) in the environment. With the instrumented bracelet, the user will be able to interact more freely and more intuitively with the projected displays using arm movements and speech.

Interacting with Steerable Projected Displays
When computer vision is combined with a steerable projector, any surface in an environment can be turned into an interactive interface, without having to modify or wire the surface. Steerable projected displays offer rich opportunities and pose new challenges for interaction based on gesture recognition. In this paper, we present real-time techniques for recognizing “touch” and “point” gestures...
متن کاملSeamless Information Presentation in Instrumented Environments through Object Associated Displays
The work presented in this talk is focussing on user interface issues for instrumented environments. These environments provide distributed presentation media and sensors and in particular entail the observation and recognition of implicit user interactions. This offers the possibility to infer about the users plans and intentions, and to proactively assist in solving the tasks at hand. In such...
متن کاملNumerical simulation of liquefaction susceptibility of soil interacting by single pile
Previous case histories have shown that soil liquefaction severely damaged many structures supported on pile foundations during earthquakes. As a result, evaluating the potential for instability is an important consideration for the safe and resistant design of deep foundation against earthquakes. In this study, the liquefaction susceptibility of saturated sand interacting by single concrete pi...
متن کاملCollaborative Visualization of an Archaeological Excavation
We are developing a collaborative system for offsite visualization of an archaeological dig site through both virtual and augmented reality. Multiple users, wearing tracked, head-worn, see-through displays, can interact with the environment using tracked, instrumented gloves, a multi-user, multi-touch, projected table surface, large wall displays and tracked hand-held displays. We take advantag...
متن کاملProduct Associated Displays in a Shopping Scenario
In this paper, we introduce the concept of Product Associated Displays – PADs – as a way of providing visual feedback to users interacting with physical objects in an instrumented environment. PADs are projected public displays created at locations that can be intuitively associated with the objects they show information about. The concept is illustrated in a shopping scenario.
